How do I take care of my wooden wick?

Woodwick candles provide a unique experience with their campfire-like crackling.  They  just require little care and attention so you can enjoy them for hours and fill your room with a beautiful scent.

  • Make sure your wooden wick is about 1/4 inch tall above the wax.

  • Use a long match or lighter, and start at the corner of the wooden wick to get your first burn started.  It will slowly stretch out over the width of the wick.

  • Once lit, it’s very important to let your candle burn for apx 2 hours.

  • After the melted wax has reached the edges, you can blow out your candle and let it cool. Once cooled, gently pinch the carbon from the wick,  between your fingers. Your wick trimmings can go directly into the compost bin!

  • Caution: never leave your candle unattended. Be sure to place it a heat resistant surface. Keep away from pets, children, and flammable items.
